Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.
Scouts is for all young people aged 10½ to 14. We meet at Chew Magna Church Hall on Tuesdays during term-time from 19:15 – 20:30.
What Do Scouts Get Up To?
Being a Scout is all about discovering the world on your own terms and making the most of what you have, wherever and whoever you are.
Alongside your new friends, you’ll master the skills that will help you weather the storms of life, and try things you’d never get the chance to do at home or at school – working with trained volunteers to achieve whatever you set your mind to.
Recent activities include:
- Evening hike
- Map reading
- Warhammer modelling
- Kayaking
- Tent skills
- Night sky
- First aid challenges

Uniform
Scout uniform consists of a teal green shirt or blouse. See the uniform page for more details.

How To Join
We operate a waiting list system for our Scout Troop, with priority given primarily to children of our volunteers, and then to Cubs who are moving up. To add your young person to the waiting list, please contact us, including your young person’s name and date of birth. We always welcome more volunteers – as a volunteer leader (and with some behind the scenes roles when they are available) your young person gets a priority place as spaces become available.
