Welcome to 1st Chew Stoke Scout Group In Scouting, we believe that young people develop best when they are “learning by doing”, when they work in teams, are given responsibility, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. 1st Chew Stoke Scout Group was formed in February 2011 and is based in the Chew Valley, south of Bristol. We currently run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections. All sections are aimed at both girls and boys. See the links below for details of these, or check out the other pages under the “Useful Information” menu. Our Scout Group is popular and some of our sections are over-subscribed, so you may need to join a waiting list. We will be able to advise you of the current situation when you get in touch. Among other criteria, we fill spaces from the waiting list in order of how long the young person has been registered with us, so if you are interested in your young person joining the group in future, we recommend you get in touch as soon as possible. The only way to be prioritised within the waiting list is if you volunteer with us either as a leader or a member of the Trustee Board. All Leaders, helpers and committee members involved in running the Scout Group are volunteers who give up their time to allow your children to enjoy their Scouting experience. We are always looking for new people to get involved, so If you want to help in any capacity please visit our volunteering page to find out more: For latest news, photos and updates visit our Facebook group – this is a closed group, so you must be a member to view.
